About me huh? What would you like to know? Well first of all I am a Christian and am completely in love with God. I talk about my walk with Him, faith, youth ministry, my family, etc. on my personal blog, Being Who God Created me to be. I won’t bore you with the details here because you can figure everything out there pretty much.
As far as business goes, I’m a work at home mom (WAHM) and my business website is Full Blog Support. I install blogs and websites, customize them, create custom headers and graphics, and offer complete writing services as well as blog/website management and content management services. I love working from home, and have been blessed to be able to do so since 2008. My network also includes my time saving blog, Efficient WAHM, and a site for moms, Open Talk Mom.
Okay, now that we got the business stuff out of the way, time for the fun stuff and the reason for this blog.
Back in January of 2009 my daughter and a couple of her friends and I started Weight Watchers together. We’d get together on Tuesday nights, watch American Idol and do our weigh ins. That held me pretty accountable and I lost about 10 lbs. or so. Well AI ended, and one of the girls moved to Tennessee, so the whole thing fizzled out…including my motivation.
Fast forward to January of 2010, I gained back almost all the weight I had lost and knew it was time to do something again. I joined Weight Watchers online again and began the slow journey to 140. A couple of weeks later, a couple of friends of mine, Tishia Lee and Angel Williams started their own weight loss blogs for accountability purposes, and I thought is was a perfect idea! I thought how awesome it would be to have a whole weight loss community helping each other stay on track, as well as motivate and encourage each other to keep going when the going gets tough. When I did WW way back in the day, going to the meetings for weekly weigh ins really helped me to stay on track because I couldn’t stand the thought of stepping on that scale and having a gain when someone was watching. In addition to blogging my weekly weigh ins, recording them on video has been a real key in helping me stay on track.
There are some other health issues that I had to factor in and have just recently switched from keeping track of points on WW to a low carb/low sugar eating plan. I am limiting my carb intake to 40 grams a day and my sugar intake to 15 grams a day. But, you can keep up to date about that by reading my posts.
Another huge factor in anyone’s weight loss success is incorporating regular exercise into their weight loss plan. As you will read throughout the posts, I like a variety of workout programs so I tend to switch them up rather frequently. I am more than willing to try different things and if I like it I will stick with it, and if I don’t, I won’t. I’ll be keeping you up to date on which workout program I’m currently doing, so be sure to check back often for those updates.
Another huge factor in weight loss success are Non Scale Victories (NSVs). I love NSVs and will post about them as they occur too. Some of my favorite NSVs are:
- When someone asks if you’re losing weight
- When you can fit in a size smaller
- When you get good results at measurement time
- When you can see in the mirror that you’ve lost weight or that you body is taking on a different shape
- And when your skin looks and feels soft and supple from healthy eating and exercise
That’s all I can think of for right now. I’ll add more if it occurs to me, or if you want to know something, just ask! Thanks for stopping by WAHM Weight Loss and be sure to subscribe and let your friends know about it.
Have a great day and God Bless you!
