Weigh In Week #11 and an Experiment
Sorry I’m a little late getting my update in. I weighed myself yesterday morning before going to the Good Friday service at church, then we had to go shopping and get ready for Remmy’s (my new grand daughter) shower, so I wasn’t home all day. Then of course today was the shower, so we’ve been busy all day prepping for that, then afterward we had our bible study with the youth group. I am pooped, but I wanted to get my weigh in posted on here real quick.
Let’s just say it wasn’t what I hoped. I gained 1.8 lbs, putting me up to….
214.0
Booooo!!! Now, most of me is wanting to say stuff like, “I don’t understand why; I’ve been eating right and exercising and everything”, but honestly, I could have done better in the eating department. Now, I didn’t use all of my flex points…on the days I kept track, and the couple of days I didn’t keep track, I thought I did pretty good. Apparently not. Or else my body is just dumb. I think my body is just dumb. LOL. With my low thyroid (which I really need to order my Thyrotain) I think it just can’t lose weight like normal people.
So, what am I going to do? Well, I’m going to get back on the Thyrotain
and…here’s the experiment part…I’m going to follow my doctors orders…IMAGINE THAT! She highly recommended I do a high protein, low carb diet. She has said that ever since I can remember, so for the next week I’m going to try that. I actually began yesterday, though I definitely could have skipped the tortilla chips on my taco salad. And today I definitely could have done without the big fat piece of homemade bread and the big fat piece of chocolate cake with butter cream frosting on it at the baby shower. HA! But, for the most part….oh wait, I also had a bowl of cheesy potato soup at the shower. For dinner I did pretty good with only having chicken wings and a salad with lowfat balsamic vinaigrette.
Tomorrow I’m making a roast, potatoes and a nice veggie for Easter. I will try really hard to stay away from the potato. Not to mention the chocolate. Ha ha!
I’m not sure if going the high protein route is going to be harder or easier. I’ve done it before, so I know I can do it. I just mainly want to see if this weight will come off any faster. I will give it a good solid try for a week or two to see if it affects my body any differently.
Have you ever tried a high protein diet? If so, how’d it work for you?

I have done high protein low card diet and it worked well for me. Although I was eating lean proteins and good whole grain carbs.

Michelle, I try to stick to lean proteins too (except for cheese…ha) and good carbs too. The main thing I’m going to try to watch is my sugars this week. I’m going to limit my sugars to 15 grams a day to see how that works for me this week. I’ll post about it to keep track of what I eat. But, I think that’s the key, for me anyway.
