Is Having a Cleansing Day Cheating?

The past three weeks I’ve done what I call a cleansing day the day before my weigh in. The first week I did it was because I hate horribly the first 4 days of the week due to being out of town at a Leadership Conference. I ended up losing less than a pound that week, but I felt really good about doing the cleansing. My cleansing technique involves drinking water or tea all day and only eating a piece of fruit or some veggies when I get hungry. Well, that’s what I did the first time. The 2nd and 3rd times, I’ve included almonds, and a bowl of cereal or oatmeal in the evening. I really like the way I feel when I do this, and I feel like it really helps me get rid of water weight before my weigh in. I tend to retain water, so when I do this “cleansing” I can feel and see the difference in my finger and ankles.

I mentioned this to a friend of mine the other day and she said it was soooo cheating. But, I don’t feel like it is. I feel like it’s okay to take a day and either fast if you feel lead to do that or have a fruit and veggie day, or whatever. I don’t think it’s cheating at all. Am I wrong? What do you all think? Do you think it’s cheating or do you think it’s a good idea, or somewhere in the middle?
